Ot sound

One sunny day went to Botany with my sister and say a hot dog stand my sister and I decided that we should get some. We went to the stand and that’s when I realised that I had forgotten my wallet in my car. I ran back to my car and got my wallet after eating the hot dogs we went to Otahuhu train station to pick up my brother. We got a lot of cotton candy after.

This week for phonics with miss Linda we looked at the ot words. First we made a list of words that start with ot. We then found the meaning of three words that have the ot sound in then. The we put 3 ot words in to a sentence. We then wrote paragraph that have 5 words that have the ot sound in them. Then we did key into evaluation.

Phonics ock Sound

One morning I woke up hearing loud knocking on the door, it was my cousin, she said she was here for the trip our parents had arranged for us. Right then my mum came in and told me that it was meant to be a surprise. She told us to pack our clothes and pack sunblock as well. I was done packing my bag when mum called from down stairs saying “ Don’t forget to pack your socks”, which I had forgotten to pack. After we were done we all packed our suitcases in the car and locked the house door. I was walking towards the car after locking the house door when suddenly I found myself on the ground, I had tripped on a rock. Mum told us that we had a 7 hour drive to go , on our way we saw a beautiful peacock.

Today for phonics we looked at the ock sound with Miss Linda. First we looked at some words that had the ock sound in them. Then we looked for the definitions for some of the words that have ock in them and then added the missing ock words form the sentences. We then wrote a paragraph with 5 or more ock words in them. We then did a influencing on a story about rivers, then used a question dice to answer the questions.

Op words from Phonics

One day I went to the  shop and bought some popcorn then I took it to the shopkeeper to cash it. I hopped my way back home  eating all the popcorn. I accidentally dropped some on my way back.

Today for Phonics we circled all the Op words in a story, we found 13 words that had op in them. We found 3 Op words from dictionary and found their meanings. We then did some Paragraph writing using 5 of the op words that we had written down. We then read the short story's and answered some questions based on the short story.

Phonics Ip sound

One rainy day I looked out my bedroom window and saw that it was raining heavily. I went to my brothers room to wake him up, but he was already up doing backflips on his bed. I went downstairs and asked mum why she had a bucket near the door with a little bit of water in it. She told me that their was water dripping from the door top. She told me to be careful. I think I should have listened to Mum because the next moment I was on the floor with a sore back, I slipped. Mum called me in the kitchen and I saw her writing something on the clipboard, she told me that there was a storm heading in our direction. She told me to get the equipment that she had listed down on the clipboard. I was walking out the door to my car, when I realised that I forgot my car keys that were up stairs. I went upstairs to get my keys when I saw my little brother in the bath playing with a toy ship.

Today for phonics we did the ip sound. We listed some words that had ip in them. Then we added missing ip words to sentences. We then wrote a paragraph with 5 ip words in them. I had a lot of fun during phonics.

Phonics Ap sound

One day me and my father went fishing down at the river. My father taught me how to set a trap to catch a snapper. We waited there for a while then my father said ‘’we have got something’’. I happily went with him to see what we had caught. My father pulled the trap out of the water when I saw a snapper flapping around. I clapped happily and helped my father get it back to the house. I was so tired when I got to the house that I went straight to my room and collapsed in my bed.

Today for phonics we did the ap sound. First we looked at some words with ap in them then we did ap words in the beginning the middle and at the end. We than looked at some words that had the ap sound and also had ing in them. we that did paragraph writing and than did short reading text evaluations. I had a lot of fun at phonics today

Phonics ANK sound

One fine day, my brother decided to prank me but it went horribly wrong. So my brother took me down to the river bank and on the other side was my sister pretending to be stuck in a tree. I quickly started to cross the river bank to get to the other side when I slipped, luckily the water was shallow that day. My brother quickly ran over to me and pulled his hanky out to wipe the blood, my sister jumped out of the tree and ran to me. They carried me back home and put me on top of a blanket and called Mum, she said that I had broken my ankle.

Today for phonics we learned about the ank sound. First we listed some words that had ank in them, the we solved some riddles with the word ank in them. The paragraph I wrote has five of the ank words form our list in them. I had a lot of fun at phonics and learnt the ank sound

Phonics AKE

 It was my birthday so we threw a big party and mum and dad baked a big birthday cake. We ate Cheesecake, snacks, milkshakes, and a lot of other yummy food. It was also a snowy day so we caught snowflakes .

Today for Phonics we listened for the ake sounds. First we made our list of all the 'ake' words we could think of, we also looked for them in the dictionary. We read a story then found the ake words in the story. Then we wrote 3 ake words in a sentence. We then we wrote a paragraph using 5 'ake' words. Finally we evaluated short texts that Mrs Linda read to us.

Phonics

I packed some snacks in my black backpack and went for a walk down the park, then I heard a quack. I looked around to see what had made the sound when I saw a little duckling.

Today for phonics we learned about the ack sound first we looked for some words that have the ack sound in them and wrote it down on a piece of paper then we did some complete the sentence that that had the ack sound in it. We then chose 5 words and created a sentence. I had a lot of fun.
