Early Maori Enterprise

In the early 1800, Maori was the first trading company, who did bartering and haggling which means to trade and to negotiate.
They would plant kumara and would bring back the money they got from selling, but they traded too many items that were not worth what the item originally was, or what it was traded for.
The inland tribes often traded berries to the coastal tribe for seafood.
Maori were the key producers and suppliers of agriculture produce.
After trading many items, it explains why Maori signed over their land by the 1900s.

Maori were the first trading company.

They would plant kumara and then sell them.
Inland tribes traded food with coastal tribes.
Maori supplied agriculture produce.
They signed over their land by the 19s.

Today for inquiry we wrote a 5 sentences summary about how Maori were the first trading company and then we made small sentences that explains our summary but it only had 10 syllables in them. We did this by counting on our fingers, stomping the ground 2 times then tapping our thigh twice and then clapping our hands once. We did this tow times so it made up to ten. I had a lot of fun doing thing it also made me remember that Maori were the first to do enterprise

Explanation on Tolerance

Tolerance

Tolerance what is it?, tolerance is being patient understanding and accepting of anything different, It is also a way of showing respect. Having tolerance is really important, one of the reasons is that tolerance helps people to live together peacefully. Tolerance does not mean that only one person shows tolerance or respect and others do not.

People who are not tolerant often end up in fights or argument and it is mainly because they don't agree on something or because one person does not like others opinions. Showing tolerance is also when you don’t put your opinion above others even if you are sure that you are right. Tolerant people show that they can deal with people who have different opinions or different perspectives. Tolerance, respect and understanding helps ensure that societies have better understanding of other diverse background, beliefs and identities.

Now do you think that you are a tolerant person?, When was the last time you showed tolerance? Tolerance and respect help you understand other people's opinions and behaviours. They help you to live peacefully with others. Be tolerant show patient and respect others. There is a saying that goes around “ Give Respect Get Respect “. Now think again are you are tolerant person or not.

This week for writing I wrote an explanation on tolerance. We had 10 minutes planing, 40 minutes of writing and 5 minutes of DRAFT. In this explanation I explained what tolerance is and why being tolerant is important. I had a lot of fun writing this explanation and it also got me thinking why tolerance is important.

Phonics ock Sound

One morning I woke up hearing loud knocking on the door, it was my cousin, she said she was here for the trip our parents had arranged for us. Right then my mum came in and told me that it was meant to be a surprise. She told us to pack our clothes and pack sunblock as well. I was done packing my bag when mum called from down stairs saying “ Don’t forget to pack your socks”, which I had forgotten to pack. After we were done we all packed our suitcases in the car and locked the house door. I was walking towards the car after locking the house door when suddenly I found myself on the ground, I had tripped on a rock. Mum told us that we had a 7 hour drive to go , on our way we saw a beautiful peacock.

Today for phonics we looked at the ock sound with Miss Linda. First we looked at some words that had the ock sound in them. Then we looked for the definitions for some of the words that have ock in them and then added the missing ock words form the sentences. We then wrote a paragraph with 5 or more ock words in them. We then did a influencing on a story about rivers, then used a question dice to answer the questions.
